My therapeutic style is interactive and supportive and draws on an integrative blend of psychodynamic, mindfulness, mind/body, and cognitive behavioral treatment techniques. I work with clients from a practical, here-and-now perspective while attending to the impact that familial, cultural, and early childhood experiences can have on an individual's current functioning.
Therapy provides an opportunity for an individual or couple to look at their patterns and tendencies in a safe and non-judgemental environment. This can lead to greater self-acceptance, improved mood, decreased symptoms, and the development of new strategies to deal with difficult and complex issues. Overall, clients report decreased distress and greater self-awareness and confidence as a result of the ongoing commitment to themselves through the therapeutic process.
With over twenty-five years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals and couples, I have a broad range of clinical skills and training which allows me to customize therapy to the unique needs of each client.
I look forward to speaking with you regarding your interest in therapy.
